This course will give beginners and those with some basic knowledge the chance to find out and take part in field work based at the Hungate site. Delegates will get the chance to excavate the site, and explore archaeological techniques with the experts from York Archaeological Trust, as well as see behind the scenes and find out more.
Weekend Course Dates and Details :-
October 19th-20th 2013
Saturday: 9.30am Induction & Introductions followed by work on site for the rest of the day until 5pm. There will be breaks in the morning and afternoon as well as a longer break for lunch (provided). In the evening there will be a meal provided for the group at 8pm.
Sunday will be a case of getting straight into the archaeology with similar breaks as well as a session working with finds from the site.
In the case of bad weather there are plenty of indoor activities that can be completed if we need to temporarily avoid the rain.
The cost will be £130 per person which includes 2x lunches, evening meal and a pass to the YAT attractions. Previous trainees and FoYAT members have a reduced rate of £110
